I am in the process of building a mini hay wagon and cant seem to find a decent floor pattern. ive gotten my frame and everything built i just cant seem to figure out a good way to make a good floor. does anyone have a picture of what they used for a floor? id like to make sure its sturdy enough i can actually use it to haul things but still loo.

#1 · Feb 19, 2015 (Edited) Well.. I am trying to figure out how to build a mini hay wagon to pull behind my 4018. I have been doing some research and trying to get ideas from photos. My reasoning? I have a 4' wide x 6' Long chicken coop that I want to put on the wagon so I can move the chickens to other parts of my property during the summer.

Added another front axle to the rear and fabricated the rest. I used pressure treated 5/4 x 5 1/2" Lumber for the deck. Measures approximately 6 1/2' L x 44" W. It will make a great mini hay wagon/rolling work table/bench, Beer cart or whatever!! I would love to see anyone else who has made one, add photos if possible.

JD 2720 & 3039R. I see my wagon in the link you provided. I used a 2X6 for the front to back beams, bolted in all four corners and 5/4 porch decking boards for the floor. That is plenty strong. It is about 7 years old now and the weak link is the tires, it sits outside year round. Jul 18, 2009 / Ideas for building small scale hay wagon #3.

For a while I have been wanting to build a decent hay trailer type trailer so I can pull my kids around on it at shows, and maybe make it big enough to actually handle another sears tractor.
