With a more expensive build, I don't think the 5L15 is gonna let an R-1050 beat its punch. It's LRS, not the slightly less expensive LSS or even the SSS gear, all probably above the receivers. It appears the 5L15 has DML-02s in the phono stage and DML-01s in the amp section.

My r-1050 has broken glass, wacked faceplate, damage to one of the upper plastic knobs, and I rebuilt the left channel from scratch since some dipshit scorched all the leads off so it's a mess of extended resistor and transistor legs soldered together in proper repair fashion. It's a mess but it's MY mess and the 1050 is a great sounding unit.
