Booderee National Park stretches across 6,379 hectares at Jervis Bay on the south coast of New South Wales. The park includes 875 hectares of marine environment. The park is also home to Australia's only Aboriginal-owned and managed Botanic Gardens which takes up another 80 hectares.

Booderee is beautiful at any time of year. Average temperatures range from 9-15°C in July to 17-24°C in January. The summer period is very popular and all our camping areas fill up well before Christmas. Designed by the colonial architect, Alexander Dawson and built in 1860, the 3 storey lighthouse was built of sandstone blocks quarried near the present day Jervis Bay village. The tower was 61 feet high (18.5m) with 8 rooms at ground level. The floor was timber and cast iron girders held up a roof of stone flagging covered with asphalt.
